Absolutely beautiful proportions on this piece of WWI trench art.  Crafted from a recovered brass shell, it has been sculpted into an incredible piece of period art nouveau.  Nice hand-hammered details. Stands 13.5" tall with a center crest of "Feldzug, Armee, 1914-1915".  So, I would presume to be Austrian.

Pair of Trench Art Vases, made from WWI artillery shells.  One has brass handles, the other appears to be copper.  Art nouveau curve to the handles contrasts nicely with the very linear form of the actual shell.  Large, each standing 15" tall.
